Happy
Days Pre-School
Since
its inception in September 1974, Happy Days Pre-School
has endeavored to maintain a high standard of excellence
in all areas of education and socialization for the
three and four year old pre-schooler.
Many
opportunities for growth, learning, creative expression,
and personal development in a safe and carefully supervised
environment have been offered. Our aim has been to
encourage each child to excel to the best of his or
her capabilities while at the same time, making learning
a fun experience.
Our
staff has been carefully selected for their academic
credentials, Christian character and love of children.
The
quality of our school is well known by educators in
the public and private sector, and we invite you to
come and see for yourself why our children exceed.
Bible
We are dedicated to the
needs of the whole child, and to the nurturing of
their complete development in mind, body and spirit.
Even at the age of three and four, a solid foundation
can be laid for moral and spiritual values. Therefore,
we use simple Bible stories and songs as an important
tool in the work of character building.
Reinforcement
Praise
and encouragement are liberally used to help your
child learn skills in all areas of our program. Our
program includes many things that you are trying to
accomplish, such as zipping, buttoning, tying, hanging
clothes, using the rest rooms and cleaning up after
play. Help is always given where needed, but we encourage
parents to allow their children to become more independent
and care for themselves at home as well.
Student
Progress
Lessons
focus on colors, shapes, numbers, alphabet recognition,
recital, arts, crafts, discussions of the home, family,
pets, community, etc. A language and communication
skills program helps to provide development in both
listening and verbal areas. Activities encompassing
the sensory experiences of seeing, smelling, hearing,
tasting and touching are also included.
Children
are taught a variety of songs during the year. They
participate in simple games, story time and other
special activities
In
addition to the activities listed, time is provided
daily for music, free play, kindness, sharing, prayer,
and Bible stories. During free play and snack time,
the children are taught to function in a social setting
and to practice fair play.
The
school provides a snack everyday for your child.
Your
child's birthday can be celebrated with classmates
if you contact the school office. During the month
of February, your child's teacher will submit a written
report to the parents on his/her academic and social
progress in the program. Parent-Teacher conferences
are available upon request.
Outdoor
Facilities
When
weather permits, the children enjoy their free play
time outside in our fenced in playground, with equipment
designed to encourage muscular coordination and independence.
Summer
Recreation
Activities are designed to reinforce our learning
objectives, as well as providing peer interaction
in an informal setting. The program includes such
activities as art & crafts, music, outdoor water
play, special activity days, snack time & barbecues.
